EU Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
Dear customers,
The new EU Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will come into force on 13 December 2024. This regulation replaces the previous Product Safety Act and introduces significant changes to strengthen consumer protection and ensure the safety of products placed on the EU market. The GPSR applies to all new, used, repaired or remanufactured products and sets out specific obligations for online marketplace providers. We at USG United Sportsproducts Germany GmbH ensure that the measures specified in the new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) are fulfilled.
Below we provide you with the most important information and present the individual categories in separate documents.

Scoring model for risk categorisation according to GPSR
The scoring model for safety assessment and risk categorisation in accordance with the requirements of Article 6 and Article 9 of the new EU Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) for USG United Sportsproducts Germany is structured as follows. The criteria for risk assessment are based on the requirements defined therein and are intended to enable a systematic analysis of the risks in relation to product safety. The aim is to use a points system to categorise products or product groups into risk categories that indicate safety measures and test intensities.
The model assesses the risks of a product or product group based on specific criteria from Article 6 GPSR. For each criterion, a risk value is assigned on a scale from 1 (low risk) to 5 (high risk). The sum of the points gives the risk category and indicates which measures should be taken.
Articles of personal protective equipment (PPE) of category 1A and animal feed of category 7A are products that are already subject to EU harmonisation legislation and are therefore exempt from the GPSR.
